Megawide, Cebu City LGU sign joint venture for Carbon Modernization Project

Carbon Market Modernization breaks ground

Infrastructure giant Megawide Construction Corporation and the Cebu City Government, joint venture partners in the modernization of Cebu City’s historic Carbon Market, celebrated the groundbreaking ceremony for the project on March 24, 2021, marking the start of construction activities for Phase 1.

Resource mapping conducted in Carbon barangays

Cebu2World Development Inc., the developer of the Carbon Modernization Project, conducted a Local Resource Mapping Turnover with the three barangays within the Carbon area to explore potential projects in the community.

Archt. Joy Martinez Onozawa, Sustainability Consultant of Cebu2World, led the resource mapping in Barangays Ermita, Sto. Niño, and San Roque with Market Operations Division Head Irvin Cabales to discover the existing local talent and resources in these areas that could possibly be used to create sustainable projects for the residents.

Stall certificates to ensure Carbon vendor's space rights in the temporary market

Cebu2World Development Inc. (C2W) and the Cebu City Government started distributing Certificates of Award to Carbon Market vendors who will their respective spaces at the interim market as the modernization project starts.

These Stall Certificates, turned over on July 30, 2021, give an assurance to the vendors of Freedom Park and Warwick Barracks that they will still be able to continue with their livelihoods at the temporary market.
